Ask yourself how does the regret you feel help you deal with the source of that regret . Chances are that even if it was something you did no matter how terrible the answer is no . We can feel remorse or responsibility over things we may have done . That is OK but regret is like a cancer that will eat away at the soul . Misery is a side affect of that regret . Try to remember the good things in your life . Good luck with your life

Then don't do things that make you regret and have misery. You are the Captain of the ship. Make better choices and stronger decisions.

Well you cannot change things that have happened in your past. You need to move on and try to make the best of what you have. Misery loves company so you will probably find lots of people that will commiserate with you.
Life can deal lots of horrible things to us and we have to choose wether we are going to wallow in it or climb out and move on.
I have left quite a wake in my past but seem to get a little better everyday.

get up tomorrow morning, go look at yourself in the mirror, and tell yourself, out loud, 3 things you like about yourself. doesn't have to be physical.
then do one nice thing for someone. it can be as simple as smiling at a stranger, giving someone a hug, or telling someone you care.
follow this routine until it becomes habit and i guarantee the regret and misery will leave your heart!

Wow, sorry to hear that... I've been down that road before, my suggestion is to live life to the fullest, and when you're depressed, smile.

Always look toward the future, keep in touch with your family relatives, and friends often... that can really help.

The past is the past, you can't change it... so hang in there ok... you'll make it. :)

"A guilty conscience needs no accuser". After what you've done all these years? You should be eaten up by all of that guilt. For shame.
