I really don't want answers like Hostel or Saw. Yes they were twisted but in terms of gore they really didn't have that much.

I'm talkin over the top gore. You know limbs being torn off, maybe used as weapons.

The Evil Dead movies were pretty gory. But Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive" was probably the ooey gooeyest.

Some surprisingly good suggestions! I will also vote for Dead Alive or Re-Animator.
For some good Italian stuff check out Lucio Fulci's movies: Zombi, The Beyond, House by the Cemetery, but especially City of the Living Dead. Argento's stuff is good, but not really that gory.

Saw 3 is ridiculously gory....there's also Hostel, Feast and a movie named Jenifer, which kinda redefines gore.

I have thought that Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses is very gory, but you'll have to rent the sequel The Devil's Rejects along with it to get the full gross effect.

The first two 'Evil Dead' movies have blood spraying everywhere, plus he chops off his hand and attaches a chainsaw to his wrist.
Chainsaw Massacre sucked, and House of 100 corpses was a rip off of chainsaw.

re-animator, bride of re-animator, day of the dead, peter jackson's dead alive and bad taste (whoa), but probably on of the grossest and most disturbing movies i've ever seen is blood sucking freaks. and that other guy's right about the dario argento thing.

Ahhh but have you seen the latest Saw, Saw 3?? It is far more gorey than the other 2. One guy was heaving in the cinema as we were watching it!
