I read on yahoo news that they should be removed at passport checks.... does this mean they don't have to at the moment?

In the uk when you fill out the form for a passport there is a picture of a lady wearing a veil(not a full face veil), as an example to show how your face should be shown in your picture, i think that as long as your face is clearly visible and you can be identified from your photo there should be no reason to remove a veil.

In Florida, a muslim woman sued the States for not being given driver license after refusing to have a photo taken without a vail. The state won.

A funny thing was, a representative from the Muslim group of this area said, she is the one who is wrong, as their religeous rules allows women to remove the vail for official reasons.

Just to clear up a really important fact.

The veil is NOT, i repeat NOT required in the teaching of islam.
The koran only asks that women dres modestly and does not specify any particular dress.

Nomads of the middle east would wear the veil as protection from sand storms.
The custom was then encouraged by male muslims jealous of other males eyes.
The misinformation we see in britain today is encouraged by the muslims male population.
muslim women are forced to wear the veil and have no choice but to lie about the choice when asked.
The left wing media often parades educated and professional veil wearing women as a demonstration of personal choice.
this is not representative of the cross section of muslim women , most of whom are prevented from even being educated here in england.

, they can remove veil, when taking licence photo, {for necessary},but if someone is going to see her , so a policewoman.
actually ,95% of females wearing veils, they are wearing it by their own discion, but also some girls wear it even their parents are refusing it ..
and that is not related at all with the education ,
i am 24 years, i wear the veil from about 3 years, and i am a doctor .

why they wear it ? cause the best value woman wear is to wear a veil .

and actually for me ! i don't like men heart to be hanged with me instead of being with GOD ,
yes sure loving people is recommended , but it is not nice to see people are broken heart because of u , as they cannot marry the lady he loves or attracted to !

Personal opinion.... I don't like the full veil because yes I feel intimidated. All official buildings should ban them and the veil should certainly not be worn for an official photograph. Not meant to offend, sorry if I have!

Not in Ohio. Ohio Supremes ruled that your face has to be visible on your drivers licence.
That's the Ohio Supreme Court not the singing group

I'm a Sunni Muslim, as what I'd learned, veil is not a must to put on clothes for women.
