There are so many people on here who offer advice on what to do about certain situations and problems that people face. However, what I would like to know is how many people actually abide to the advice they give and if there are times that you haven't, why not? Is the advice you offer now a result of a lesson learned or do you offer merely what would be the right thing to do but not necessarily what you have done when faced with similar circumstances? Just kind of curious...

I think it is important not to be a hypocrite. Sometimes it is difficult, but especially if one has kids, it's important to behave the way one tells others they should behave. People hate the "Do as I say, not as I do" thing. It's also totally disrespectful to preach one thing, but then say the rules don't apply to oneself. And I truly believe that the one thing almost everyone wants is to be treated with respect. If I want to be respected, I should also be respectful. Just my 2 cents' worth.

In regards to your question(s) I feel that the majority of the responses people receive on here are responses people want to hear. They are the responses that sound the best in the situation stated.

I for one usually abide by what I say. There are certain occasions where I will give advice or answer a question based on what I have been through or am going through.

Sometimes I do not “practice what I preach” because I am a person who is spontaneous and on-the-go. There are times where I do not think and unfortunately not-so-good things happen. I am usually sincere in my responses for I like to think I am helping/guiding someone.

Some people on here (so I have read) go through power-trips. They believe what they say is the best and think they are Dr. Ruth or Dr. Phil. Some are just completely rude and do not care what they say.

Hope I have helped you.
God Bless!

I really offer my advice to people based on my personal experiences and learned lessons from my past. I also make it top priority to be honest with everyone here. If there was ever a situation that I haven't been in I think of the question as a hypothetical but I still answer it honestly, as to say how I would have handled the situation.

To answer your question I will ask a question that I hope one of the next anwsers will answer.

I heard part of a song on Air America Radio that repeated the phrase "Ignorance is the enemy" some where in the song was the phrase " forgive me for I know not how to live the life I lead"

Who sings this song? Where can I get a copy?

It is the phrase " I know not how to live the life I lead " that repeats in my head.

There was a famous person who once said " Ask a man if he is honest and if he says yes he probably isn't ".

I try to live the life I use to preach. I now have given up all hope and just try to stop preaching

I usually try to offer advice based on what I've been through. If the question is about something I've never experience or can't even imagine experiencing, I either don't answer ... or I answer and try to say what I think would be the best advice on a "do no harm" basis. I do carefully consider the possible outcomes before advising.

I offer a balance of practice what I preach. Why? because I smoke cigarettes and have not been able to quit. But that does not men that I should condon or neglect to tell my children to never start smoking. Part of life is learning by the mistakes of other people. I have made a few mistakes and changed all but the smoking. So other wise yes I do live by it.

Not necessarily. You can know the difference between right and wrong, and tell people what's right when asked, but that doesn't mean you have to do it yourself. Who is anyone to judge life and how people choose to live it?

i usually do what i say, but what i usually say is to do whatever you want. that usually means if i decide i don't want to live by my own rules, i will change them. i say everyone should not care what anyone else says and do whatever they want.
