I really enjoy a really good friendship with someone at work and I would like to tell him how I feel about him. Even though he is 8 years older than me. How or what should I do? I am just as nervous to speak the truth. Could someone else do it for me?

Just keep being a friend! Age has nothing to do with it! Leave others out of it (sounds like Jr. High having a friend ask).

It's not high school anymore. Ask him to dinner some time; get to know him. He just may end up responding to you on a personal level. Either way, keep the relationship out of work. And after you get to know him on a personal level, you may also find that you don't really like him. We all play a role at work with responsibilities and ethics...you both may not appear as you would in a relaxed environment. There's nothing wrong with developing new friendships though, and you both may grow on each other....just give it time.

I concur with ndngrlz - you CAN approach him and ask him to go out with you sometime. You can enjoy a wonderful time with him and pick the perfect moment to tell him how you feel. My father is 13 years older than my mother; age doesn't matter. I wouldn't get someone else to do it if I were you.
