A good free one is MUOnline.com I really like that one..but I play on a private server darksideofmu.com and no..its not really really easy on there either.just more fun..a lot more fun..Also if you liked runescape..World of Warcraft is great..its $14.99/mo to play but well worth it. Everquest is fun kinda. I like Unreal tournament and Quake 2..But those are kinda older. Knight online is free and is somewhat fun..City of Villians is $14.99/mo and is a good one. I heard flyff.com is a good one..ive never played it though. Basically, there isnt an mmorpg out there that beats World of Warcraft right now unfortunately. And thats not just my opinion either..I'd love to see/play one that can top it.

For a good free mmorpg you should check out www.secretsofmirage.com It has dated graphics(FF 4-6 style), but is very fun.
