Call the hospital and ask for a good Lactician Nurse or your ped. Doc. Try to continue to breastfeed. If you just want to go ahead to formula my ped. doc said to go with Enfamill with Lipal. My daughter had no problems with the switch when I made it. Good luck and kudos for staying with it so long. :)

I would call your local La Leche League leader before you give up and switch to formula. They are highly trained and can work with you to develop a plan to get your supply back up.
You can find the local group in your area from the website below.

I'm not sure I understand. If your milk supply is running low I'd use the supplement caled Fenugreek. If your milk is letting down on one side will your baby is eating on the other use Nursing pads. I advice breastfeeding through the cold season to help your child.

Good Start was the best I used and I went through a lot of different types. Get the liquid kind because the powder is just not as good in my opinion.

You should ask the baby's Dr, they will tell you which is better and closer to your milk. Sometimes the baby decides when it does not what your milk anymore. They do not get enough and what something else or ready for little bit of food. Talk to your baby's Dr.

Let your son decide which he likes best. I used Enfamil for my son, He didn't like the Nestle Good Start or the Similac brand.

there is a supplement that you can take, called Fenugreek. my OB/GYN recommended it for me when i started to loose my milk w/my daughter. of course that doesn't always work. i just LOST my milk, it was very frustrating.
just remember that your baby got 7 months of antibodies!!! that's AWESOME! and if you MUST switch to a formula go with one that agrees with your child. i tried a couple of formulas with my daughter....giving her system time to adjust, and some would cause constipation while others she just wouldn't touch!

Don't switch to formula, some simple herbs or foods (like oatmeal or yeast) are probably all you need:

However if you do switch to formula here is some info:

Gentlease is the closest to breast milk. But ideally talk to your pediatrician first.
