Not to be funny, but how did you make friends in TX? Just be yourself and approach people in the same way you would now.
There really is no best way to make friends other than being yourself.

What a tough situation. But the good thing...people in OK are really pretty nice. If you are nice, they will be nice. Try to be helpful...do you go to church? There are friends there that can help you. I moved to OK when I was 10 (I'm from CA) Talk about a culture shock. I swore I would never talk like these people do...2 years later I spent the summer in OR and people would come up to me and ask if I was from TX. So I guess I ended up talking just like them after all. Bottom line, don't be scared, this is going to be fun and new and exciting. Go with it!

i moved to a new country when i was ellevn and it was actually this time of the year too.. well what you have got to do is be friendly and smile people will be intrested to find out who are because you're new be yourself and even if its hard try to make conversation with people no just yes or no anwers but dont be too loud or anything because people will be scared off.. if i made friends ina new country you can do it in a new state best of luck :]

just be yourself, because if your fake for the first new week of school people are going to think that that is how you always are, and once people think one way about you, its hard to change their mind, plus i would rather have 5 friends that i know always have my back, and i can just be myself with them, then to have 30 friends, and whenever i hang out with them i have to change my personality, so be yourself, and you should make friends that like you for who you are, and since your just 11 its easier, and they dont judge as much, good luck!

Join some sports club. Or a school activity. And get on myspace.
