not very cold

maybe 40-45 on very cold nights, and maybe 55 on very cold days.

but most nights won't go below 45-50, and many days will be 60 to 70 degrees. Basically there are many days where, as man, wearing a suit, I'd happily eat outside - and some also nice days where I'll still eat outside but there will be a gas powered heater somewhere.

another example is, if you go on a boat, you'll generally be fine, on windy but sunny days (and there are abotu 3'500 hours of sunshine a year in LA, so the odds of sunny weather are high), with a shirt and a thin sweater, that's it. There are many parts of the world where people would dream to have such nice boating weather in the spring!

hope this helps
