Hypercam is powerful video capture software that is used to record AVI movies (Audio-Video Interleaved) directly from the monitor, for software presentations, software training, demos, tutorials, and fun! Hypercam supports text annotations, sound, and screen notes (excellent for creating automated software demos!). Sound from your system microphone is also recorded. You can also select Frame rate and compression quality prior to video capture.

Please note that Hypercam is not intended for re-recording of other video clips from the screen (e.g. playing in Media Player, RealVideo, QuickTime etc.), but rather for creating regular software presentations, tutorial, demos etc. If you still want to try it for re-recording other movie clips, you need some other software known as 'QuickTime 3', downloadable from www.apple.com/quicktime/

You will get a tool icon after it is installed. By clicking on this icon, you can activate for your use.

It is not a spyware, hence it does not get installed automatically. I am not sure if some hacking expert has developed a trick to send it as 'attachment'. However, the AVI files created by the PC user can be watched stealthily by somebody using a spyware, similar to the other files, by sharing your PC.

You can confirm the presence of spywares in your PC by scanning with an anti-spyware, some of which you can download from the internet. A reliable free anti-spyware is 'Spybot'.

Hope, this much information is useful?
