I want to act in movies mainly and if the opportunity presents itself..tv. Where is the best place to move to start this type of acting?

Hey feliciamd...,

Los Angles, the burbs. Burbank, North Hollywood, etc. That way you are close enough to the studios to pop in for auditions.

If you are going to try and make it in acting, you definitely need to live in New York City! Although you won't be making much money in the beginning, so you might want to look into places in Brooklyn and Queens that are still close to the city (Williamsburg, Astoria...).

Once you are in Manhattan, it doesn't really matter where you live because you can get around pretty easily on the subway.

I have lots of friends who do both movie/tv and theater acting. They live all over the city!

If you want to be a good actor, move to New York. If you want to be a movie star, move to LA.

Do not go anywhere else. Those are your only two options.

Right in your hometown or at college. Where you can increase your acting abilities. Such as local plays of college plays etc.
