The answer to this question is no. The word "Brain" refers directly to the Cerebral cortex found in higher animals. Ants are surprisingly intelligent nevertheless. Ants, like other insects have networks of nerve cells called Ganglia. Each ganglion is in charge of simpler tasks that help the simple organism cope with challenges presented by its habitat. On the other hand, a Human cerebral cortex with ten billion cell bodies is by far the most ingenious cellular network in the universe capable of processing vast amounts of information. The difference between brain and ganglia; ten billion minus five thousand.

Yes they have but it is called "modified brain" because it is used for the same function as in mammals but it is just a nerve chord because ants are much more simplified organisms than we are!
That does not make them stupid though! Ants have a great capacity of actions, communication, social behaviour and adaptation! No wonder they even dare to live among our feet!!!
