Well, I'm sorry to hear people are so closed minded about why people are hard to buy for. I know all the things my husband likes, get told all the time about the things he would like to have. But one year for Christmas, I got him an XBOX, since he said he'd like to have one. But, he thought I was going to buy him something else he liked, so when he got the XBOX, he said 'Oh, I thought you got me a helicopter.'...and then put it down, and went back to playing on the computer!? I was so excited I got him something he'd been talking about, then I was crushed.

So, I ASK my husband what he wants now. He has plenty of hobbies that I can shop for...but he switches his focus from one to the other so often...that I can't know for sure what he ever really wants.

Good luck! Often times, just a night out is nice. Even if you can't do it tonight, tell him you've planned it for another night that's more convenient. Believe it or not, they do cherish the 'you' time!

Whenever I'm in that situation (for anyone, not just boyfriends) I make a list of everything he or she likes. Try to be as specific as possible. As you're making the list you might start to come up with some possible ideas. My boyfriend (who buys everything he wants and is consequently extremely difficult to shop for) just had a birthday and I did the same thing for him. The list was ridiculously long, but I ended up buying him season 1 of Stella, an incredibly stupid sitcom that lasted only 10 episodes. Anyway, he absolutely loved it. He said that it was one of the most thoughtful gifts anyone had ever bought him and that he wouldn't even have thought of buying himself that. So give it a try-- maybe you'll come up with the perfect gift! Good luck!

Question: Why are you married to a man that you do not know?

Sorry to be so harsh, but if you know him then you know what he likes. In which case, you should be able to come up with at least one gift that he would love.

There are many things that you can buy for a man, but you need to buy something for your husband and not just any man.

Take care,
Troy

Rush to the nearest Home Depot and buy him a tool, any tool. Just make sure you keep the receipt so he can exchange it for what he really wants. Next year, try to be ahead of the game, OK?

...and you dragged as* all this time and never even gave this a thought until now. Nice going. My suggestion is to get him a girlfriend. perhaps she'll remember his birthday and take the time to get a gift well in advance.
