Something for an elderly great-aunt to get, so preferably nothing too bizarre, and something that they can pick up easily from Argos, Boots etc.(not ToysRUs).

Not really got much idea what her interests are, sorry!

Thanks!

Depends on her interests:

Arts and Crafts: Floam or Hama Beads

Jewellery: Loads of good necklaces, bracelets, hair ties, etc around - you'd get lots with £10

Soft Toys: By nine, girls tend to like collectible ranges like Bean World or Uglydoll (ty Beanies are becoming less popular)

Dolls: Bratz or My Scene (Both have items at around the £10 mark - most girls prefer Bratz)

Science: Lots of good science kits around at that sort of price

Also, don't rule out things you might think of as 'boys toys' - the toy gender lines are becoming more and more blurred - a construction toy like Connectix, Zoobs, Geomag, etc might go down well.

Hope this helps

My 9 year old granddaughter is all about anything Hannah Montana...clothes, makeup, dolls, anything. She also really enjoys using my Nintendo DS when she comes over and just last night said she would like to have the game...The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. She also wants a diary. Other big hits have been: Heely's (sneakers with skates built in) All kinds of costume jewelry (age appropriate) Art and Craft Supplies Have fun picking out her gift and save the receipt...if you miss the mark, you can always go back for an exchange.
