Lets say this Florida beats Arkansas, doesn't get in the BCS title game, because USC pay the AP and USA voters to trigger the computers. If USC somehow(will not) beat Ohio State and Florida win by a blow out. I believe Florida should get a share.

Lets go history, LSU play in the BCS championship game and win, but had to share it with Southern Cal. Which was stupid. But Southern Cal beat OU, Auburn beat everybody but didn't get a share. AND AUBURN WENT UNDEFEATED IN A POWER HOUSE CONFERENCE. Southern Cal played CUPCAKES. They barely beat VTech by 3 points. Now look at the facts. Florida lose to Auburn a RANKED TEAM Oct 14. Southern Cal lose to OREGON STATE(WHO) an UNranked team Oct 28. Lets go back to 2003 Southern Cal lose to Cal an unranked team on Sept 27. LSU lose to Florida a RANKED team back then. But they gonna named LSU and USC co-champs when. LSU win the whole thing. If somehow USC beat Ohio State and Florida win their BCS game and Florida don't get a SHARE. BOYYYYY.

excellent point..thats why i do not understand why the ncaa still uses the BCS..think about this college is the ONLY sport that does not have a playoff (even college basketball has a playoff) you can take the top sixteen teams and let the little nothing bowls be playoff games. then they would mean something (like the motorparts bowl around christmas would actually pull 2 good teams in and get more coverage) then the teams that had a cakewalk all season like usc and yes, ohio state would actually have to beat a REAL football team to win a national championship

• Yeah!!! usc gets all the breaks. Like playing at there regular time, remember there touchdown drive didn’t start until 11:30 at night us easterns are getting a little tired the game should have been played at 12noon est has there own PAC-10 refs flow en in (they should have) Fact is I’m tied of prophylactics oh I mean the trojan’s always getting there way! I image they'll get to play for the BCS championship at the Colosseum Oh that’s right that's not there home turf how ignorant of me, maybe they'll have to drive down the street. All I have to say is ! Go Florida!!!

The reason USC and LSU were co-champions is because LSU won the BCS Championship game and USC finished #1 in the AP poll. Remember, previous to the BCS, the poll determined the national champion. There are still both BCS and AP national champs. Usually, it's the same team.

So, Florida can manage to finish #1 in the AP poll, then sure, I'd go for co-national champions. Good luck with that.

There are actually 2 National Championships! The BCS crowns the winner of the National Championship Bowl Game on January 8th. Also the AP crowns the AP National Champions based on the top vote getter in the Associated Press Poll! That being said Florida has a tough road to get to what you are saying, but It will not happen because USC will have had the harder game!

I agree it sucks for Florida though! One loss in that tough SEC, congrats to the Gators!

You make some good points. It just proves the system in college Division 1A football stinks. Anytime you choose a champion at any sport by judgment it leaves room for criticism. There really has never been a true champion on that level ever. Even if they just play one more game it would satisfy all the guessing. College football is my favorite sport but the presidents of the powerful universities only think of it as a cash cow. They could care less about determining a true champ every year.

The Reason that USC got a share of the Championship that year is because they were ranked #1 in all polls, except for the BCS poll. That is why they got a share of the Championship with LSU.

Florida doesn't deserve to be put in contention for the National Championship.

NO, there should never be a "Co-Championship". BCS is what it is and there is only ONE winner........Oh, and LSU didn't share ****, They were the 2003 BCS National Champions!!!!!!!!!!!!! Southern Cal just wined to the press, but they sure didn't get their picture taken with that big ole crystal football!!!!!

BCS sysytem is totally flawed.... That being said.. No. There will be no sharing. The winner of a potential USC - Ohio State Bowl will be the National Champ..
It may not be fair, but that's the way it is.

No co-championship because you dont need a co-national champion...you could just give that to the loser of the national championship. Just because you lose doesnt mean you should give the rating to a team that didnt even make it there.

Florida should of never played a 2-9 Western Carolina!! They could of gone elsewhere for a guaranteed win..possibly like a middle of the pack big east or acc team.

If they loose out on the natty champ game, its cuz they didnt get a big bcs points boost for beating WCU
