I have cysts on both of my ovaries. I have been to the doctor numerous times about them because the pain is so.... put it like this on a scale from 1 to 10 it's always a 9,10. The doctors keep giving me pain meds and telling me that they'll go away ...but of course they haven't! They tell me to get on birth control....That didn't work either. So now all i can do is take pain pills that don't work much and lie on a heating pad all day. Any one have any suggestions on what i should do?. The last time i went to the doctor I was told that i was in pain because one of the many cysts had ruptured.

I also have cysts on both of my ovaries of various sizes from large to really big. The birth control helped me a little but not a whole lot. Besides what you're doing, the only thing they can really do is surgically remove them. Mine rupture a lot and yes, it is very painful i understand. Even if the doctors surgically drain your cysts, the come back. To remove them could help if you got on birth control right after the surgery to stop regrowth...I'd find a different doctor.

You need to get a different doctor! I had Ovarian Cysts and my doctor *insisted* that they be removed. Either ask this doc about having surgery to get rid of them or go to a different doctor- it could get serious if you don't! The surgery is pretty simple and it only took me around a week and a half to recover- its worth it to get rid of the pain for good!

You're in my prayers!

The only thing that seems to work for me is to keep my stress level down. I was told by my doc that when you get angry or stressed out your hormone levels start going haywire and this can cause your cysts to start acting up. Hope you feel better mama.

*I dont know what your doc perscribes for pain, but mine likes to give me Vicodine. STAY AWAY form this sh!t....it causes liver damage if taken daily!

I would definately get a second opinion. While it is possible that they will "just go away," there also could be more serious issues that need to be checked out. I would find a new gynocologist and see if your voice is heard more. Another good site to check out is scarleteen.com - it talks about a lot of sexuality related health issues.
