it all depends on what you're looking for. You'd be safe with either a Strat or a Telecaster. It's a pretty vague question though. There are countless varieties of fender guitars.

It all depends on your playing style. I played a tele for the longest time, then when i started getting better i moved up to a stratocaster!

Strat vs Tele is up to your preference. Listen to artists you know that play both. Try them both out at a music store.
Strat is my preference :o)

Get a Breedlove guitar. They're hand made, and much better.

Get the fat stratocaster, i like it and i only use the humbucking pickup for Green Day songs.
