This isn't a racist thing, its just a comedic observation i've made.

When recently at my gym, I asked a Chinese guy to spot for me - he obliged but it was the constant grinning that freaked me out, I've seen this in Chinese girlfriends of people I know - they always grinning, even when ripping you off or having an argument with them

What's the dilio?

My brother's girlfriend comes from mainland China. She also smiles almost all the time. I think it's cultural. You are not allowed to show your real emotions so you smile all the time. Also, she never disagrees to what anyone says. This has also something to do with the culture. It's very impolite do disagree. You might also not know what the government thinks of /might do to you if you are disagreeable...
They also often have the idea that westerners are barbaric because they do not smile all the time, criticise people sometimes and because they can disagree.

I once worked in a Chinese restaurant for a couple of weeks. Mr Chung, the owner, used to smile a lot even when we had English yobs in. Sadly he is dead now but he was a perfect gentleman and so polite. I like the Chinese people. They are a very respectful and lovely race.

My ex is of Chinese origin. This sounds like an extremely racist question to me.

I think its just apart of their culture.... to smile if you're nervous, in danger, confused, if there is nothing else to do. I think its a good thing though. Just imagine if everyone were like chinese..... (whoa)

You're right. I've often wondered the same thing myself. Must be a cultural thing.

They clearly know something you don't. Either that or they're the happiest people on the planet. Maybe what they know is what makes them happy!
