get a cow to let you pet it and get close to it while in a field

Food Food Food, Cows love bread. Start by basically laying a trail towards you. talk all the time you are doing this. Eventually you will have it eating out of your hand. ( not on the first try obviously), My cow ended up galloping across the paddock when she saw me with a bag in my hand. I could also put a western saddle on her in the end and go for a cruise around the paddock. Lots of fun.

I notice everytime i buy new cow at first they will be a bit stand offish, but over time they will get use to you. I talk to all my cows everyday when i go out to feed them. So they get use to my voice, its kinda funny but when they get out of their pen they will here me and all come running back so no need to chace them. yes you will get one or two that just want to be a pain in the butt and run the other way. And it also always depends on breed of cow. My favorite is the brown swiss they will love you and want to be around you, they are just so sweet. But if a cow knows you wont chace it away or hit it and your just there to feed and pet them they will start to trust you.

food - if you had a 50 gallon stomach to fill you would like food too. Talk to them. If you get in touch range they like to be rubbed under the neck & scratched behind the horns (or where the horns would be).
Now the question whos cow? cause someone elses cow may neaver get that friendly if they have another person to bring food.

Aww, so cute! Bring him hay and grass. Sit down in one spot close to him for a long time and once he goes up to you, gently move your arm and give him his treat. If you do that three times a day, he might get used to you. And soon be your friend. Good luck!!
