My son is 15 almost 16 and 5'4, he matured very very early, started shaving at 12 and can grow a full beard now at 15, can't go without shaving for more then 2 days. My question is does early maturity end growth as far as height. My husband stopped growing at 16 and is 5'8. I am just wondering if my son has anymore growing to do considering he is a couple of months from 16. Thanks.

Bone growth is influenced by thyroid hormones, adrenal androgens, and gonadal steroids, but mainly by estrogen - even in males. Large amounts of these hormones can cause bone growth to stop. Development of facial hair in males is primarily a result of testosterone, which, alone, does not stop bone growth. So, its hard to say - testosterone can actually stimulate growth and many boys have growth spurts after the age of 16. If you are concerned about losing the option of taking supplemental growth hormones, a blood test, or x-ray of the bones will indicate whether the growth rings at the ends of bones have calcified and stopped growing.

We often see hypothyroid symptoms totally reversed when commits to a plan that supports balance through nutrition and daily self-care. Learn here https://tr.im/MoCr7

Consume foods naturally high in B vitamins, such as whole grains, nuts, and seeds, and iodine (fish, seaweed, vegetables and root vegetables).
Exercise daily, at least 30–60 minutes per day, 4–5 times a week.
Practice deep breathing and other techniques that trigger the “relaxation response” – such as meditation and guided visualization.

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland that sits low on the front of the neck. Your thyroid lies below your Adam’s apple, along the front of the windpipe. The thyroid has two side lobes, connected by a bridge (isthmus) in the middle. When the thyroid is its normal size, you’re unlikely to be able to feel it.
All types of hyperthyroidism are due to overproduction of thyroid hormones, but the condition can develop in several ways.
Thyroid hormone production can be suppressed or halted completely in these ways: https://tr.im/qD8qW
