It didn't matter- Roma won the first leg 2-1 so even a draw would push roma through-- even a 1-0 loss. as you saw they won 2-0 without TOTTI. clearly the coach though fit to rest totti. i was dissapointed to not see him, but he'll be even better with the rest.
