writers will always try to convince the reader to belive what they belive. that's why you are taught in writing class in college. If they could not write a good argument, they wouldn't be hired by the new york times etc..etc.
If they belive somthing in plictics or history, they might write a rather slanted artcile about it only giving the pros or ekse the cons of that particulllar isssue.

Re-write... and they really need to go back to actually checking sources, they just report anything from anybody these days, like the fake Iraqi policeman they quoted, who wasn't a policeman, and lied. Cute, and that was their basis for calling the current conflict a "civil war".

Does any of this surprise anyone alive during Viet Nam. The media has been caught so many times on so many lies I don't even trust the weather channel to let me know the temperature.

Yes.
No seriously. They do both.
News used to be about informing people. Now, it's about persuading people because journalism has become a business.
So, if you can get more people to watch your news program, visit your website, read your "news" stories, then you get the ratings, and more money for you!
Sad and pathetic, I know.

The link doesn't seem to work, or is at least working very slow. I do see that it's to a Michele Malkin piece so I'm not going to bother. She is as biased to the right as you claim the AP is biased to the left.
