Are you asking if an artist has the right to show whatever he wants, wherever he wants? I think the answer to that is no. One has to be responsible with what is presented to the public. Whether anyone agrees with me or not, there are impressionable people out there. There are children who don't need to see and hear some of the things that people feel are ok. And if you are talking about art as in an art gallery, let there be a separate section for pieces that have a "stigma" attached to them, such as nudity, so that children going on field trips, etc. are not exposed. That's just decent, something more people should consider.

I think art really depends on the person. So if your question is asking whether it should be up to the public to decide, not any specific judge, then yes. I do think that art is up for opinion. For example, a little kids art may seem hideous to many people, yet to the parents of the kid it's great!

Art, for the most part, is to be shared with others. In doing this, you run the risk of hearing public opinion - whether good or bad.

If you do not want to run the risk of hearing bad opinions or criticisms, then don't share the art.

No Art is up to the artist. If you leave it up to the public then you will get a mob mentality and that will lead to censorship

if you wanted to be an artist in the future, definitely needed public opinions, specially from your family, relatives and friends.

i THink taht art is somthing that means somthing to the artist and to the viewers. It should be somthing that makes you feel somthing, good or bad. It is often pleasingto the eye, but not always.
