His theory is right, however, theory and practice do not always go hand in hand.
Let me explain - you ovulate half way through your cycle - this (if you have a 28 day cycle) would be 14 days after the first day of your last period. Sperm can survive in the body for up to 7 days, so in theory the 'safe' period for sex is just before or just after your period. It has however been suggested (the latest research) shows that although extremely rare, some women ovulate twice a month as opposed to just ones. They can't explain this 'phenomenon', but if you are one of the rare ones, then the 'safe' time might just not be as safe as you'd like it to be. Hope this clarifies the mistery. So, yes he is right, but there is an exception to the norm.

The best way to not get pregnant is to not have sex. And yourbf is an idiot! Obviously you should be having sex with someone with a bit more intelligents. Don't ever have unprotected sex with anyone you don't wanna have kids with. Thats plain and simple. If he says he doesn't like the condom or some crap askhim how much he likes std's and 2 am feedings. Ask him how much he likes the sound of a baby screaming all night long when he has to get up and go to work in the morning. Becuz yes he has to becuz he has to spend all his money on pampers and milk. What money he will have left over will be going to bills. No more brand new stylist shoes. Its gonna be Payless and Wal-Mart all the way. And thats ifyou are lucky becuz I'm taking it you guys are young. You might have to buy Goodwill. Not that theres anything wrong with it. Its just gonna be te way it is bcuz you aren't gonna hve the money for anything. ALWAYS USE A CONDOM UNLESS YOU WANT A BABY!!!!!!

Always, always use protection when you have sex, unless you are in a committed relationship and have both been checked for stds. A guys is always going to want to have sex without a condom because the feeling is much better. But dont only think about not getting pregnant, that should be the least of your worries, think about STD's. There even some that are uncurable.

not true. you can still get pregnant 1-2 days before your period. best way to not get pregnant is: 1) abstinence 2) birth control or 3) condoms. if you keep having unprotected sex because your man says it's not likely to happen, then don't be surprised when there's a baby on its way!

You can get pregnant at any time of the month and AIDS/other STD's aren't fussy if you're having your period or not. Condoms aren't just to protect against pregnancy, they also protect you from men like him who have slept with other women and not used anything. He could have all sorts of diseases, especially chlamydia which doesn't often have symptoms but can leave women infertile if untreated. So get yourself to your nearest family planning clinic, pick up some free condoms, talk to them about other forms of contraception that could suit you and get tested for ALL sexually transmitted diseases.

Don't listen to him - he knows nothing. He just wants sex without having to use a condom. Don't let him. You're gonna be left holding the baby - literally. What you have to think about as well are diseases you can pick up from him. If he's not prepared to use a condom then he hasn't much respect for you and he's not worth your time.

Ant time you have unprotected sex, you are leaving your self in a possible pregnancy scenario. Whilst it is true that you are less likely to get pregnant at that point, it is still likely that you might. If you don't want children, use protection all the time.

no the best way to not get pregnant is to not have sex at all, but since you asked how not to get pregnant and have sex i would have to say you need to get on birth control and your man needs to wear a condom. that is the best way, but remember nothing is 100% except for abstinance!

how about not having sex? thats the BEST way to not get pregnant. Otherwise Birth Control or having your "man" wear a condom, which you should do anyways to protect yourself from an STD
