I dont think it is just "anyone"- it has to be BOTH that are in it for the long haul and I think part of the problem is there may very well be one member of the union that wants to be in it for the long haul, but the other may not be. Some people just don't want to put in the effort to make it work. Divorce is always the answer and/or solution, when a marriage should really be worked out before it gets to that point. I believe marriage is ok to end under certain circumstances (physical abuse, mental abuse, sexual abuse, infidelity) Too bad there aren't more people out there that are looking for the "long haul", because society has come to a point where more couples are getting divorces then staying together :-(

Yes. Getting married is a commitment. If you do not plan on spending the rest of your life with that person then you shouldn't get married. However, if someone has a good reason to leave their wife/husband then there is nothing wrong with divorce, but no one should start out thinking you want a divorce down the road.

We all get married for the long haul, it's just that circumstances beyond our control unfortunately ends the marriage.

I would be because I don't take marriage lightly. I have to make sure I know the person before I get married. But like 50% of all marriages end in divorce, so I guess not. Maybe they think so when they get married, but don't work throught their problems afterwards.

Of course. I just recently got married ~ this is my second one but please don't prejudge. This one was completely different. There is some type of inner feeling you get with the right one ~ completely indescribable for me. Everything feels right with him. If you have ANY doubts then you are probably not marrying the right person. My first marriage I had doubts but thought things would smooth out. They didn't and I feel guilty for giving up but I always told myself that life is too short to be miserable for the rest of it. You cannot help those that do not want to help themselves. I know that I made the right decision and now I am with my true soul-mate. I cannot imagine life without him and we complete each other perfectly. Good luck if this is something you are contemplating but please do not sell yourself short. Don't listen to anyone but yourself on this one...

Great question. Since my wedding 11 years ago, I have seen no less than 10 couples break up that we were close to. Some of them were even @ our wedding. I guess you should never think your marriage is invincible.
We are so grateful for each other tho. I think some good secrets are; like each other, not just love/lust; be able to laugh @ yourself; continue to date even after marriage (each other of course lol); don't have kids too soon if you can avoid it; never stop talking, kissing, hugging, etc. :)
