It's why you shouldn't live in a big city unless you can block things out. I know a lot of decent people who have become very hateful towards other races/religions/groups from living in a big city. It's misdirected anger from the stress. Tolerance flies out the window unless you have a thick skin.

Ancient Rome had social problems when it had fewer people than today's Peoria.

Group-living requires group-solutions, which take time. Urban water and sewer services did not come about till recent times, but cities have long existed. These services make modern large cities possible; other innovations will address today's problems.

and theyre too close together in cities which causes stress!
