I had a near death experience only 3 weeks ago. I didn't believe until then, but now I see death as a door to a whole new dimension!

I don't think of it as a door, because a door separates two places, and when you die, there is no alternate place.
I haven't met anyone who has enough imagination to accept this, but:
When you die, there is nothing.
You're not in some eternal dream, you're not anywhere. Your conciousness, mind, emotions, and 'soul' cease to exist. You will not be aware of anything, because you have no facility to be aware with, or to remember things with.
No human can understand the concept of nothing, because none have ever experienced it.
Think of a robot, with an on/off switch. If the robot is off, is it dreaming? or is it just a bunch of metal and circuits? is it's mind floating around outside of it's body? No, it just has no mind or senses until you turn it on again. I don't see any reason to believe that humans are different.
I realize that 'nothingness' is difficult to conceptualize, in fact, it's so hard, that most people simply refuse to accept that's what happens. It's depressing, and most would rather lie to themselves just to feel more comfortable about their inevitable death (which, people also refuse to accept)...
So anyways, if it had to be a door, it can only be described as an exit which is not also an entrance to somewhere else.

If viewing death as a door I would view it as the door to an attic. This is because I view the lives we live as being a product of all our experiences and the consequential memeories we form of them. These are all stored in your brain (the attic). When your body dies your brain is the last thing to go. It waves slow until they stop. Now consider a dream, which occurs in your brain. You can experience things in your dream that would have taken hours, days, hell i've even felt years pass, only to awake and find you've been sleeping for several minutes after you hit the snooze.
I see the that when you die you enter this final dream. I can't say whether the dream will end or not but i do know you won't wake from it. In this kind of after life you build it based upon your memories and experiences, drawing from them like a painter from his pallete. If you lived a life filled with deep regret or guilt you will be plagued by these thoughts until you resolve them (this obviously being a kind of Hell). That's why i try to experience all i can in my life and attempt to do the best i can to not do things which will lead to regret or guilt, which if I do i remedy the situation the best I can. So that when i go up to my attic and get lolocked inside I will be happy and able to "live" there for as long as i will.

~~SoL,,,,Death is the "door" which leads back to your origins as you are a Spiritual Being having a Human Experience. When you pass through the door you will be preparing for your Next Experience. It is merely a Transition.

Death is the end of life - not a "door" to anything. People just invented this "door" thing to convince others that life just goes on and on.
The Bible says that when you die, you do not hear, feel or know anything. It is like a deep sleep (without dreams).

I always thought of it as the door to the next room - another place to explore and discover.
