Take the value of the height* and multiply the height to itself.
(height times height) = height squared
*Make sure that the heigh has been converted all to inches,
OR all to feet, first.
REMINDER: 1 foot = 12 inches
ex. 5 ft. 2 in. = ? inches
5 ft. x (12 in. / 1 ft.) + 2 in.
60 in. + 2 in.
62 in.
5 ft. 2 in. = 62 inches
AND,
(inches times inches) = inches squared
(62 in. X 62 in.) = 3,844 inches squared
Therefore, BMI=weight divided by ( inches times inches)
Good Luck!

to square a number you multiply it ( the number) by itself
for example to square the number 9
9 x 9 = 81
8 x 8 = 64
7x7 = 49
6 x 6 = 36
5 x5 = 25
4 x 4 = 16
3 x 3 = 9
2 x 2 = 4 and
1 x 1 = 1
zero can be square but ( it you remember this from Elemantry school ) zero x anything is = io zero
