My husband and I have been ttc since August and have had no luck, we usually like to use ky warming gel, could this hinder the swimmers? We have been concentrating on my most fertile time of the month, and having sex every other day...help

The bottle says it doesn't contain spermicide, but it still might be too thick, since it's a gel.

Absolutely. Do not use any lubricants while ttc. They can actually act as a barrier. The sperm have a really hard time swimming through it. If you really need something, the only lubricant that has been proven save for ttc is Pre-Seed. It can be a bit pricy, but it is the only thing that is safe.

KY will not kills sperm, but they will not allow the sperm to swim through the solution. The best kind out there is Preseed & it comes in a conditoner that will reach all the way to your cervex so you get the maxamium advantage. You will need to go to Preseed.com & see if anyone in your area carries there product, if not, you can order it online.

Be patient, it is most likely NOT the lubricant. Ask your doctor. Mine said that it was just fine to use and to be patient and let nature run it's course. Just make sure that it is water-based and does not contain a spermicide and you'll be all good.
Good luck.

Yes! Most lubricants are the wrong consistency, etc for sperm to swim through. They actually kill them off. Try Pre-seed. There are several sites you can buy it from.

A doctor on Babyzone.com recommends using either egg whites (gross!) or olive oil as they both will not hinder the sperm or change the natural Ph of the vaginal fluid. I haven't tried either yet but I will probably opt for the olive oil.
