Are you sure it's for your son's homework? It looks like it's for your homework. Most adults who have a child old enough to be taking French would capitalize their question, would use the correct past participle (spelled), would capitalize French, would put the apostrophe in it's and son's etc.
That all being said - singular l'escargot, plural - les escargots.

L'escargot (as is the snail but because snail starts with a vowel, you have to put L' in front of it.
