There hasn't been much work done with their venom, but apparently it is considered to be medically significant, and supposedly similar to the toxicity of some crotalus or atrox species... Can't find the LD50 for them... I would think it would be on Dr. Fry's site (www.venomdoc.com) but I didn't see it. As far as I know there's been 1 fatality, some disfigurement etc... reported. There's always the chance of a strong allergic reaction as well. Your best bet would be to check the venomous forum at http://www.kingsnake.com ... There are several top experts on there, and you're sure to get a more definitive answer there than from Yahoo...
