Need to know if in windows XP home, are all of the USB ports also Comm Ports ?

In general, COM ports, also known as serial ports, are completely unrelated to USB ports. USB ports are a standard designed to replace all parallel ports, serial ports, and other type of ports with a single "universal" type for peripherals.

So to answer your question, the answer is "no".

USB will work on all XP systems, but they are not COM ports. COM ports tend to be small 9 and 12 PIN connectors at the back of the PC and are typically used by console cables.

no its deppend on the equipment is logged to the computer as some of them needs driver,but regarding the USB connector itself all of them are alike.
