Basically, to put it bluntly...It vastly increases one's chance s of being able to ever secure decent employment which pays a living wage and halfway decent benefits. College (or even tech school) are pretty much essential these days to securing a "good" life (ie, money for food, housing, a health insurance plan, etc). Even one generation ago (your parent's generation) it was possible to secure a good life without a college education--but that is much, MUCH more difficult now. Keep in mind that college does not guaruntee you will be able to find a decent job (especially in the current job market)...But in greatly increases your chances.

College will give you what you put into it. If you go just to get a degree and do the minimum work to get your degree then you will not benefit. If you research, explore and participate you benefits are limitless.
College is expensive and time consuming. It is up to you the make the most of it.

Second, you would recieve a degree that will help you get a good job that pays a lot of money.
And you will be "college educated". Think about it.

You can expand your horizons and become a more well rounded person. You will be more able to contribute effectively to society.
There are many programs out there that will help you pay for college, including Pell grants that are government money to help with college costs, there are scholarships that you can apply for, as well as student loans. If you truely want to go to college then talk to a counselor and they can evaluate your past education and help you to get started.
By expanding your education, you will open up doors for your future that you wouldn't otherwise have. Go for it and good luck.

getting a damn good job in the real world or you can flip burgers your whole life. but then a lot of times people apply for jobs and are told they need more training in that course and so they go to college and apply again and are overqualified, so be careful, at what you take and how many classes on that subject you take.
