Secret of Evermore
you start as a boy in a regular city... but then you get thrown back in time. you are in a small villiage of primitive people, and your dog is a shaggy wolf. to leave the town, you need to use alchemical fire. throughout the game, as you travel to different time periods, your dog changes form. he's a robot dog in the future, and in egyptia times, i think he's a greyhound. at some point, he's a poodle.
the red spider thing on the case looks like a mix between a fly and Carnage from the Marvel Universe with Spiderman
