It's hard to say how good they are because they haven't played any prominent teams against which they can be judged. I'm guessing that many top 20 teams are scared to play them, so their non-conference schedule isn't going to be filled with contenders.
They gave BC and Lousville good games the past couple of seasons, so I think they could compete with some of the BCS teams. I don't think they could beat a USC or Ohio State, but they might have a shot against some of the "lesser" top 8-10 teams.

You sure about Boise St. in a BCS Bowl this year?
ESPN or ABC was talking to someone from Wisconsin (#7) and they said they were disappointed that they wouldn't be making a BCS Bowl this year......Boise State is #8. I thought you had to be in the BCS top 6 or win ACC/Big12/Big10/SEC/Pac-10/Big East to get in.
Boise State doesnt qualify for any of this.
Boise St. therefore, I believe plays in the Poop Bowl yet again.

They will probably play Oklahoma and I think they will win. They have a great offense and a pretty good defense even though they play in the WAC. It will be a good game and not as close as many people might think. Maybe BSU 34 - OU 23.
Yeah they only beat SJSU by 3 but this is a better SJSU team than before and in college football any team can beat the other team any given Saturday. How do you explain Texas losing to K-State, Cal losing to Arizona or any BCs conference team losing to a 1-AA team?

They will probably play the BIG 12 champ. They are in b/c they will be in the top 12 and undefeated and be ranked higher than another Conference champ (Either the Big12 or the ACC). They play a very weak schedule and am not sure they will be able to match up. If they played the Big East or ACC (this year) than I think they could do well.

Hell no. They'll get obliterated by anyone they play from a major conference. This includes but is not limited to Michigan , Oklahoma , ACC winner , Rutgers , USC , etc. But of course , we'd never know for sure unless they actually schedule someone good. Stop scheduling all-cupcake schedules with Nevada and San Jose State and maybe I'll give Boise State some respect.

There is no way they should be ranked as high as they are and they really don't deserve a BCS bid. That being said whoever they play in a BCS game should be better than them.
No matter who they play I say they lose by 21 at least.

I think they deserve their ranking. As to will they do good, well depends who they play. I think they can play against a BCS Confrence team.

I hope that they will win it. I think they can keep it close and make a game of it, which would be just as important as winning. The best case scenario would be that they blow out whomever they play.

they might do "well," given that they are boise state, but they won't win if they're playing Oklahoma.
