If so did you have any problems afterwards?
Did you still have abnormal pap tests?
Did you have problems getting pregnant later?

Thanks.

LEEP PROCEDURE IS TO TRY AND CUT OUT ABNORMAL CELLS ON OR IN THE CERVIX. THE DOCTOR DYES THESE CELLS AND THEN LOOKS THROUGH A MICROSCOPE TYPE INSTRUMENT TO VIEW THESE COLORED CELLS. THEY CAN THEN CUT THESE OUT AND LOOK TO SEE IF ANY ARE LEFT THAT HAVE TO ALSO BE CUT OUT. MOST WOMEN HAVE DISCOMFORT/PAIN THAT DAY BUT IT IS ALL INDIVIDUALIZED ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU HAVE. EVEN THOUGH THE DOCTOR HAS ATTEMPTED TO GET RID OF ALL THE CELLS, THERE MAYBE ONE OR TWO LEFT, SO YOU WILL NEED FREQUENT FOLLOWUP PAP SMEARS TO CATHCH ANY STRAGALERS.
AS FAR AS PRENANCY GOES THAT TOO IS INDIVIDUALIZED. THE BEST THING IS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR AND IF YOUR NOT SATISFIED WITH THE ANSWER, GET A 2ND OPINION.
REMEMBER, EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT REACTION TO THE SAME PROCEDURE, SO THE BEST ADVISE IS TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT ANY CONCERNS YOU MAY BE HAVING.

My 2 friends and I all had different procedures at the same time. I had laser,1friend had LEEP, and the other cryo. Im sorry to tell you that the friend that had the LEEP faired the worst of us all. She was in constant agony for 2 weeks after it and she was bleeding for days. Lucky for me I was up and about the very same night (in fact we went Xmas shopping). See if you cant get the doctor to do laser instead (recooperation is much easier). Yes all 3 of us still had problems afterwards and 2 of us have had hysterectomies since, so I guess that answers the pregnancy question, Good luck

No problems after. Normal pap smears. I've had a tubal so pregnancy was not an issue.
The actual procedure was painful but didn't last long. It didn't cause pain after but be sure and take a pad with you. You'll have to wear a pad for a while.
Good Luck. I hope you can get pregnant. Also my doctor said quit smoking and he didn't know of anyone with recurrence who quit.

I have not had one, but was told that it can cause Incompetent Cervix, so if you do become pregnant your doctor may have to do he cervical stitching on you to prevent your water from breaking too early. I lost a baby girl back in Aug due to this and the doctor asked me if I had had any LEEP procedures or freezing done. Come to find out, in my case it was caused by the rough birth of my son two years earlier.
