Growing up in this country I was taught that we are the land of the free. Freedom is what makes everyone else want to live here. Everyday I see more and more of our freedom being taken from us and no one is doing anything about it. It was nice to see the Democrats win the elections this year, because that says that the majority of people are tired of the current goverment, but where is the outrage? My parents protested the war in Vietnam because the american people were tricked into going to war over there and because our families and friends were getting killed in a war that we didn't belong. We are doing the same thing in Iraq and the only protests I see are the occassional parents that lost a child. Make sure you remember what is at stake the next time you vote and be sure to step up when called on to take action against this corrupt and unpatriotic goverment. Fight for your personal freedoms before you don't have any left.

TAKEN?!!!!
People are handing over their freedoms as if they don't want them and not realizing they are.

what's that quote? julius caesar......Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar.

and it's not just the situation in iraq i'm referring to. what about the everyday cultural wars? the political wars? the war for political correctness that threatens our freedoms? people don't see this. they only see the obvious "war".

Worthless talk. Freedom and Independence and such are just words, made up to whip up patriotic frenzy, which can then be used by leaders to get others to fight for the leader's power growth.

Neither this government or any other (in the world or in America's past) knows anything but amassing more power. Only God can save us, and when the time comes every government on Earth will step against Him (including America). They technically already have, since they are trying to take a position that belongs only to God (and Jesus since Jehovah promised it to him for 1,000 years), which is leadership over humans. This is the outrage that will save us. Not this America is great foolishness.

I don't doubt it is the greatest on Earth, but that is hardly saying anything considering what we are up against and in what we are the greatest in. In fact, that just means America will be in the frontline against God when that time comes. Which means America goes down first. Don't see yourself as part of this dying system and try to save it when God has marked it down for destruction. And don't do it for any other country either that will share the same fate. Join God's kingdom, look for the hope provided by that kingdom; that is where you will find survival and freedom.

The American identity is dead my friend. What passes for the good ol USA today is the dead body being jerked to the right then the left by the perfumed princes of power. They wrap themselves in a decaying carcass attempting to prove worthiness to command the trappings of power they crave. When the cadaver becomes to corrupted to shield them we will have our just deserts. Remember how fast the old soviet union fell.

Because people don't like to take a stand on anything no more. It is sad to see people just walk though life as zombies. A lot of people don't look into the issues their self so they only know what is told to them. You should see the looks on people face when i tell them we need to start a revolution. This government is corrupt and its not going to change until we make it change

We had the Draft before. It may be brought back again. The good thing about it is that it will make Congress think twice before declaring or approving a war.
