I would say that "Birds of a feather flock together" is clearly supported by research on gang activity in urban settings.

I agree. birds of a feather. Not all beautiful people are lonely, and familiarity tends to provide more comfort then contempt.
Absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder, but in that absence, you start to find something else to replace what you are missing.

All can be applicable, but I most agree with "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." No matter the gender and relationship, if you really like / love someone you miss them terribly when they're gone.

birds of a feather flock together probably resembles the majority of the population. people who think alike hang together as well as people who have the same background and people who have similar goals in life or similarities also are together and that encaptures most of society regardless of race and ethnicity.
