Um... Please don't say that "my internet is not working". It's a newbie thing that marks you... and not in a good way. The internet is outside, in wires and fibers, running past your house, and through the air. You have to go get it, just like the cable tv signal.
SO. It is your connection, processing and display of information FROM the internet that is at issue.
Dell, huh? Lot's of Dell problems today.
Let's see. "connecting" that would indicate that the line from your computer to the Internet Service Provider is live. Let's assume that it is, and did indeed make a connection.
What did you do next? Your computer is hooked to the outside world, kind of like the cable that hooks to your TV. This will not magically turn on your tv and pick a channel. You have to do this.
This means opening a browser.
Go and find Internet Explorer (Dark blue 'e') Click on it. This does not necessarily open simply because you hooked up to your service provider. It is the actual "TV" you look at the internet 'through'.
Select a site (URL) and type it into the blank space at the top of the IE window. Try
You should be on your way!
Best wishes!

The router address is probly 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, just keep changing those last 2 numbers until you can find the router and modem. Read what it says and go from there. The last number usually goes up to the number of PCs connected to it and then skips to 64. The next to last number is to keep the router from sharing the same address as the modem. Just add 1 each try. The first one you find should have the address of the other.

the web isn't a truck; you won't be able to easily promote off stuff onto it. properly, that twine connects you to three switching centre managed by your ISP. From that centre, the line might want to commute to three different switching facility and so on till it leaves the rustic. ultimately, your connection travels out by your usa's gateway, by nationwide borders, underwater, throughout the time of the sea and enters different switching centers that you'll be able to connect with any server international that still has an internet connection. Plus substantial redundancy; that stops failed packet shipping. In different words, there are a spread of distinct routes that your packets might want to take to achieve a similar vacation spot. it truly is the gist of it. i will't provide you with a technical or medical assessment - it really is previous the scope of Yahoo! solutions - even though it truly is the needed theory in layman's words.

We'd need more info from you... are you using a router? a modem? are you entering the correct username and password for your Internet account? etc. There could be errors at any stage so the more info you give us the better...
