you might be allergic to acrlyic or glue or if you were under the uv light it might have irritated your skin because my mom use to have itchy feelings around her fingers and she found out that it was from the light used to dry her nails

My ex mother-in-law used to have this problem. It was the products they used. The glue and the type of acrylic. I would advise (as a liscensed nail tech) to go ahead and have them removed just in case. It is better to be safe than sorry. If it gets worse or infected it will be more painful to remove them later. Speak to the nail salon first. Tell them you think you are allergic to the product and ask them to soak them off. If they refuse, then they probably aren't worth doing business with. You can buy the stuff to soak them off yourself at any beauty supply or try a new place. Leave them off for about a week and try a new nail place and let them know in advance of your problem. I would recommend writing down the product names and keeping track of what you use to avoid any recurrence (by only using certain products that do not have that effect). This is a lot of troule to go through, but if you want artificial nails I would suggest it to avoid any future problems. Allergies can worsen over time and can cause really bad problems. If you just aren't that into artificial naisl, why not get a manicure every 2 weeks? It would probably cost the same and with proper care, your natural nails could look almost as nice as a set of fake nails. Good luck to you!

Wash the area with anti bacterial soap, dry and then apply peroxide. Do this a few times and if the itch persits, go get the nail removed, because it could be a fungus or infection. FYI, they'll probably charge you for removal
