Do you wonder if oprah ever feels guilty about her extreme wealth?

Especially when she came from extreme poverty. I hear she gives to chairty but the sums ive heard are really chicken feed. Apparently she saw a house and it wasnt for sale so she offerd 10 million over the actual value, she got the house to add to her 10 other homes. Just curiose what you think? I got kinda annoyed when i saw her question about passing on $1000 to change a persons life, i mean come on. I found that kinda insulting, like a $1000 is really going to change a persons life especially coming from someone who is that wealthy. If your talking to her pass this on.

I love the Oprah Show and watch it every day, but she really needs to get over herself. The money's gone to her head. She's always bragging on the show about her material things and her money. She feels no guilt at all.

I think your view is pretty narrow and constitutes a chip on your shoulder. Why should someone feel guilty about being successful? She, and other wealthy people like her, have worked hard to EARN what they have. Why would that offend you? Perhaps you don't understand that donations to charity are given from the heart and are not REQUIREMENTS. What charitable things have YOU done to help others this year? I hope that you have a good answer to that, but whether you do or not, don't make the lame mistake of bashing someone else's contribution! Perhaps what Oprah gives is "chicken feed" according to the percentage of her wealth, but I guarantee that what she has given to charities equals more than you or your grandchildren will make in your lifetimes! That doesn't seem like "chicken feed" to me! It's all relative. Maybe you would feel better about yourself if the government took her wealth away from her and redistributed it to YOU. (Communism) You are not ENTITLED to what others have. Take the chip off of your shoulder and eat it. Then work toward making your own life successful instead of whining about the success that others have earned!

I really don't think they want to kill Americans just because they aren't Muslim. I mean they don't want to start a war with Canada (whom they could easily defeat) or any of the European countries who are not Muslim, nor Russia... You get the idea. So perhaps you should figure out why there is a war going on... I am sure that there are many LIBERAL SOLDIERS out there who would be VERY OFFENDED to read what you are writing. The LIBERAL soldier knowing "full well there is a chance he will die doing so but he keeps on", even though he is a liberal who doesn't agree with the war, but was sent by his REPUBLICAN LEADER. Do you republicans ever feel bad about this. Do you know how many lives it affects? I am not even from the US. There are Canadian soldiers over there as well laying their lives down in YOUR war. I believe that it is idiots like yourself who make Americans look like extremists to the rest of the world. Why should she? She's very generous with her money. Did you see the one where everyone in the audience was a teacher - small salary - and they all got new cars? I think the whole point of the 1000 dollar question is to show that you can change a life with some thought and a small amount of money. For example, that amount of money could pay for two semesters vocational training at a community college. Or, you could use it to produce a class of your own - in my case, I would use it to teach the people who go to our food pantry to cook five easy, cheap, nutritional meals in a crock pot. Knowing how to cook would changed their lives - it would break their cycle of poverty.

I dont think she feels guilty. I think she feels great when she does give charity etc. You can't hate because she is rich and famous. She worked hard to get to where she is at and she should be a motivator for those who are growing up in poverty that they too can be all they can be. So what if what she gives is chicken feed, at least she is giving,and it is HER HARD earned money. She can do whatever she wants to do with it. If you were a millionaire would you give half your mil to charirty? I think not. She is trying and thats effort enough.

why should she feel guilty for working hard all of her life to get to the place she is in right now? To complain about someone Else's fortune is kinda silly, she has given away vehicles on her show to all people in the audience,she has donated money to those poor souls who lost family members in the tsunami, she has given money to the hurricane survivors in the southern states, she has done all of this and much more to try to help those who need it...I am not a wealthy person either...I work hard to support my three children on my own...but i do donate some of my earnings to causes...I support the local food bank , and I donate clothing to those who need it...am i guilty, because i do what i can to help those who need it, NO WAY...and i don't think Oprah is either...we need more of the wealthy people in this world to open their wallets and help out...

Heck, she earns that money why shouldn't she spend it on herself. She does a huge amount for people and gives tonnes to charity as well as having worked hard to improve adult literacy and highlight issues that are affecting real people (as well as highlighting the lighter hearted side of life). It's not always about money, you can give in a hundred different ways and from what I understand this woman gives her time to a lot of decent causes.

It'll change someone's memory and thoughts, but I don't think she is guilty, if I earned my money and worked hard, I deserve it, and I wouldn't look back. I'll help, but I do think that people get themselve in these situations and they should get advice from oprah to tell them what to do, not give them money, it doesn't show anything.
