Please make sure that the birthday boy/girl will really be dedicated to the new furry family member. So many rabbits end up loose or in shelters, because someone got tired of their "gift".

Not at all. My daughters both had Netherland Dwarf Rabbits as well as others. If possible get her to search for as much information as possible on rabbits, get her some reading material and, if possible, join a local 4H group. They can be a lot of fun and a great teaching tool for children.

they can b ok if handled correctly from the start. as with most pets they can get evry aggressive if not treated rite
