I know they were quite popular in the mid-90s. Do they still have a large fan base?

Yes, but mostly among 30-or-so-year-olds. Their last album ("Thriller, Part One") was relased in 2004. From their media interviews, I get an impression that they are having trouble signing a record deal, so they had to self-finance "Thriller, Part One" and expect to continue this practice...

They still have a stable and large fanbase, I believe. They're not as popular as they used to be, but they had several new videos that were on rotation about a year ago. Considering that I rarely watch TV, and I've seen it more than five times, the song must have been well-known. Another video filmed in 2000 and called 'Sekret' was exceedingly popular back then.

I personally think that their old songs, like "Dva Corablya", are better than the new ones.

They do have a fan base, but they are not as popular nowadays as other Russian bands. I do not think their record anything new for the last few years.
