Since the release of the memo from the state department to the White House there have been 3 meetings canceled, what does that say about solving the problems in Iraq?

Yes! I have Fox news, Cnn, and MSNBC on three monitors and they are saying that the meetings that were canceled will take place tomorrow. Fox news is reporting that the prime minister is upset over the memo and the King of Jordan is discussing the memo with him. The threats by Al Sadar, must surely play a part in the cancelations, and then the Memo on the Prime Ministers incompetence probably is a large factor.

That there are no answers. How can Maliki promise to control anything when his main bloc of supporters, the Sadrists, have walked out on him because he's meeting with someone they consider a criminal?
Maliki is Bush's man, but Maliki is not only now without his base; he's also defined in the memo as being basically impotent.
Bush is in a real sh!tstorm right now--- no where to run to, no one to turn to.
I fear a lot of parents will have children in graves come Christmas.

Depends on who canceled them. Though if I remember what you are talking about correctly, it is Maliki. What it means is that Bush is political poison right now in Iraq. The equivalent of having John Kerry (at least while talking) on your side in America. Maliki is trying to save himself and his administration, and Bush should have put together he is a thorn in Maliki's side right now, not a help.

Too many Iraqis (too many Arabs altogether) see Bush as an occupier and a dictator on a similar level to what Saddam Hussein was. Whether he is one or not (and there are arguments either way) is irrelevant, the image he represents to the Iraqis is one of dictator. Bush needs to stay out of this as much as possible and leave it to people who can still be accepted as possible helpers.
