I recently purchased a house and there is one termite trail that enters the house through the plumbing area and into the cabinet..I figure that the nest is underground and i figure a bunch of them is in the cabinet itself. IF I FIND AND DESTROY THE NEST UNDERGROUND AND BLOCK THE PASSAGE (USING BURNT OIL ALL AROUND THE BASE OF THE HOUSE) DOES THE ONES LEFT IN THE CABINET ABLE TO SURVIVE AND BUILD A NEST IN THE CABINET??

termites dont live in ur house, 99% of the time, their nest is underground outside....they enter the house and leave a scent trail for the others to follow and then enclose the trail.....they must drink every 24 hours or die that is why they come into the house is to get to the wood that they get moisture from.....

treat around the house first then kill the ones coming in......

"this is per my bugman that sprays all my homes"....

No, the ones in the cabinet won't survive unless they have, or build, another tunnel to the ground. They have to get to the ground to get moisture/water. This applies to "subterranian" termites, as opposed to "dry wood" termites which do not make tunnels.
Check real closely for other tunnels both before and after your treatment.

For bigg_dog : Your bug man isn't completely right....the termites do need to drink every 24 hours, BUT they get the water from the ground, they eat the wood for the cellulose, not for water. Think about it - if the wood has that much moisture it's gonna rot anyway, so it wouldn't matter if you had termites or not.

Termites will create one or more passage. Not all will be visible. If a safe bet to have a professional Termite company come and check out your house.

The Termite Company will lay (spray) down a protective layer of chemicals that will act like a shield around your entire house. In the mean time remove old wood/ paper/ boxes from around the perimeter inside/ out from you house.

Absolutely, they are stubborn little buggers. They can survive a lot like roaches. Also, in case you aren't aware, if your neighbors have termites and they get rid of them, the survivors will cross the street and into your lawn and your home. So you might want to check with your neighbors and see if anyone else has the problem and let them know that you will be calling an exterminator and they might want to consider having a yard treatment done. Good luck...

there is no straightforward technique of eliminating termites. Your appropriate wager is to herald an exterminator. Termites are no longer something to fool around with. they might harm your place.

Yup! Call Terminix!

They will live in the wall and eventually come back again. It's not all that hard to find another way in. They can get in through tree roots that are already under your home.
