The skin would become very soft , sodden and tear easily. If decomposition is slowed down due to low temperatures the skin of the hands and feet can peel off like gloves. Later the hair will become loose and toe/finger nails will become detached.
Normal decomposition would begin internally although this would be slowed down if the temperature of the water was very cold. The body would become bloated as the internal organs such as the gut decompose first. Rigour mortis (stiffness of the body) would set in and then disappear. The outside of the body would probably be attacked by marine life hastening the exposure of the inside of the body to the salt water.
Softer parts of the body such intestines, stomach, liver and heart blood decompose first. This is followed by the lungs, liver, brain, kidneys and bladder. Muscle and the uterus decompose last of all.
If the body were washed around in strong currents it is likely to be washed ashore. If the body stayed in the water the limbs are likely to become detached in due course. Flesh will break down into slime and the skeletal frame will collapse.

It depends on the temperature of the water. If very cold, which it normally is, it will float around for ages near the bottom until the flesh decomposes then when all the gases have escaped it will sink right to the bottom where the crabs and fish will have a feast.

Not a clever way of disposing of a body. It'll be washed up and they're bound to catch you!
I've had great success disposing of my victims in acid or by throwing them down disused mineshafts. And they haven't found the corpses under the patio yet.
Oops what a giveaway!

"in case you have been honestly in area, then the decomposition technique could take place to 3 volume, regardless of the undeniable fact that it may provide up previously very long. The micro organism, uncovered to the extremes of temperature and radiation in area, does no longer have sufficient potential available to maintain on thriving for all that long. maximum incredibly, they could tend to stay to tell the story in basic terms interior your physique, leaving the floor extra or much less untouched (this could have the unusual results of rotting numerous your insides whilst leaving very almost no seen mark of decomposition on your physique's floor). as quickly as issues have been given too nasty for them, a number of them could circulate right into a dormant state, which regrettably for them could final extra or much less perpetually, ensuing of their eventual deaths. reckoning on the place you have been interior the Universe, your physique could be broken up by using different tactics; in Earth orbit you may over the era of a few hundred years be torn up by using debris impacts, and in case you have been everywhere interior the component of the Earth's orbit, the sunlight's potential could reason your physique to at last destroy aside via warmth (this will additionally kill all the micro organism fairly only before could fairly be the case). Out in interstellar or intergalactic area, on the different hand, your frozen corpse would desire to conceivably final in a recognizable variety for tens of millions of years."
