If it is really pipes I would use a pipe cutter. It tightens around the pipe and rolls a sharp wheel around for a full turn. Then you tighten it and do another turn. You repeat until the pipe is cut through with a beautiful straight cut. It usually has a deburrer attached to clean the inside of the cut.

Anything else I would use a 24 tooth per inch hacksaw blade and replace it as soon as it gets dull. If you have a lot to do use a reciprocating saw with that 24 tooth cutter in it.

Use a pipe cutter especially if your cutting copper water pipes.
It is hard to try an hold a sawsall for a perfect cut and it leaves a jagged edge which creates trouble if you have to put a coupler on the cut end or a valve. Don't try to cut the pipe completely through if one rotation. Tighten the pipe cutters blade down slightly after each rotation.

Get a chop saw with a abrasive blade for metals. Nobody hardly ever uses a saw blade with teeth to cut metal, except the home amateurs.

If I am cutting pipe I use a pipe cutter.
For heavy sheet metal I use my angle grinder, for tubular steel I use a horizontal bandsaw.

I agree 200% with whoever suggested a plasma cutter. It isn't metal on metal so there wont be any crazy jagged edges. Plus-plasma cutters are really fun to use!
