Hey Smartypants,

RESPECT is the way to go. Treat other people they way you want to be treated. I don't agree with every thing Islam or everything Christian - but I respect you, and all others that appreciate what that means.

Christianity is founded on the words of the 'Golden Rule', "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you". Too bad people don't understand that. But I give everyone the opportunity by respecting them first. Best wishes to you.

I totally agree with you. First off I will tell you that I am a Christian but I have experienced the same sort of thing. I stopped posting things about my faith because I felt some folks (not all) search for religious posts just to pick on each other. While I do totally believe I have made the right choice in my faith, I also believe that you have the right to make your own choice. Whether I agree with your faith or not is not the point. Would I or do I want to see another person convert? Yes indeed I do!

Meanwhile, I think that if people would at least attempt to understand even a little bit of another person's faith that they would foster growth in their own. I respect that you have faith outside of yourself. That is a good starting point. With decent conversation I could learn why you love and honor your prophet and at the same time you may begin to understand why I love and honor my Lord. We may never agree, but we can have respect for each other and added to the respect we would have a little better understanding of each other.

HI There!

My name is Stivan and I am a Christian. Well, all I can say is that people are immature. What are they fighting over, Insulting, and criticizing. Religions! They fail to realize that god is one. No matter what caste or religion a person comes from there is just one Leader and that's the person above. (Not offending any ones views here) I have studied about all religions and I dint see the need of one changing religion or converting for any reason. The approach in every religion is different that's all.

Its not nice to disregard or insult a religion without even knowing about it. No one has given us the right to judge religion or caste.

Yes! Everyone's religious beliefs, values, and morals should be RESPECTED by everyone!!! I have nothing against Islam. I have even studied it a bit and read bits and pieces of the Koran and I have no problem with Muslims. I am a Christian, but I am NOT here to tell you what to do or that what you currently do is wrong. I respect you as a person and I respect your beliefs.

I am sorry that you have had such a bad experience with people on here. I don't like many of the responses I see either.

Have a blessed day! :)

I face the same disrespect in my religion. I have always been open to all religions, and beliefs. It's how I let my wisdom grow. I am sorry you experience such intolerance, I hope for all the rude people you see, you still keep a good heart. I will neve bash you for your beliefs, you are right faith is a personal path and what is right for one person may not be right for another. Live your life as best you can. And some people out there will accept you for your good nature, instead of your religion.

It's very normal for people who feel threaten to return in like manner. Recently the Christian religion (western society) has been mocked and targeted by certain Muslim fundamentalists.

That doesn't make it right, and I am sorry you have felt targeted. If it makes you feel any better, we Christians are also targets in forum discussions like this. It's not new, nor innovative nor as clever as they often think. It's OLD news. Big deal.

I suppose its a natural penchant for individuals to take their 'jabs' at groups in here, simply for the anonymous yet very public factors.

A religion is a personal belief, it should be respected. But insults to your personal belief system cannot and should not be taken personally. Be kind, be gentle, remain strong, and stay constant. You'll be okay. They'll grow up one day. :)

Salom my friend, may God bless you and give you kindness patience and strength.

Many people, particularly in the US are not very familiar with Islam, and what they DO see, is on the news, and shows Islamic people celebrating destruction of the World Trade Center or other acts of terrorism perpetrated by the radical faction. Add to that the fact that vanishingly few Islamic leaders condemn such behavior.

From this side of the Atlantic, is seems as though that entire region is still, even in the 21st century, immersed in tribal warfare. We don't understand the value system of your culture any better than many of the Islamic countries understand the nuances of our culture.

~~~ smart,,,,Your religion is FairGame to criticize as it is indeed oppressive, subjective and Self Appointed, as ALL religions are, to be The One and Only True Way/God. When Human Nature lashes out at you then THIS is the Lesson to be Learned. Just as you have expectation to be "at least respected", so should you learn to respect The Intolerance of Others,,,, BY EXAMPLE. Then through unemotional or political dialogue the unbiased intellectuals of the past and present can scrutinize ALL Organized Religions and demonstrate to the world their respective shortcomings. Then we can Relearn our Understanding of The Symbolism and Metaphor of our Religious Icons and Events without The People getting caught between the Power Struggle between The Ruling Class and The Clergy. This is The True Way to humanity's salvation,,, as One. Power to The People and not the power-elite.
I personally don't believe in insulting another person's religion because people always teach their kids that they should be proud of their differences but they don't practice what they preach at all and that is just wrong. What's the most disturbing is how the U.S. prides itself on the melting pot of people but it should also represent a person's religions and beliefs as well.
In today's society I see things getting worse than better in all of the situations involving the world. It's sad to say but I don't think people will ever change, they made fun of God, judged God, and criticized God but he believed in himself and he knew he was able to help those same people that didn't believe in him and those who ridiculed him. It's only possible for people to change if they truly want to but I don't those people who offend you really want to change and aren't willing to.
Many people don't know this (and I am not an atheist or anything) but Christianity is a new religion as opposed to the catholic religion and all others. I don't believe a person should tell people what religion they should belong to especially since we all worship the same person or being but in a different way. God and the people who serve him do deserve to be respected by any and all means necessary.
It is the human nature to feel superior over another. Can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone respected & got along with one another? Sorry, I just don't see that happening.
Religion is just another avenue to degrade another person. Personally I am Christian, I could care less about what another persons faith is, as long as they don't push it on me, and I would hope for the same respect from another, but I will never expect it.
