I am also 22 years old and just last month my period did not come for 3 weeks. It is always on time and always had been. come to find out I was so stressed out and the fact that it wasn't comeing made me even more stressed out and it never came until the third week. I was getting really bloated too and i was nautious so I really thought I might be pregnant. I think that the weight gain might be water retention, and the weight gain could be from stress, you might be eatting more than you normaly do.
I think that there would be other symptoms besides a missing period if you had a polysistic ovary.
If it doesnt come by the time your next cycle should start I would go to your gynocologyst. Also Like someone mentioned above, I too have hypothyroidism. maybe try getting a blood test to check your thyroid levels.
Don't stress and it will come.

Not necessarily. My sister has polycystic ovaries and there are more symptoms than that. You should go to a gyno if you are concerned about it. However, I think it is normal to have irregular periods once in a while if maybe you are stressed out. Here is a really good website about polycystic ovarian syndrome http://www.4woman.gov/faq/pcos.htm . I hope this helps!

I would reccomend making an appointment with your doctor. Irregular periods can be caused by a variety of things. I know that stress often caused mine to be late - but usually only a few weeks late. If you are feeling ill and noticing other bodily changes it is time to see your doctor and figure out what is causing all of these symptoms.

recently my periods became irrgular and starting coming later and are very unusual. If you have some discomfort as well it could be endometriosis. at least thats what it is for me. or Adenomyosis. I would talk to your gyno..going on the pill could make you more regular. the only way to diagnose endo is by surgery..so if u r not having pain they won't bother. But your dr can order an ultrasound to see if you have a cyst. talk to your mom...these things are usually hereditary

you could be insulin resistent... my sister had same problem, weight gain, loss of period or very late.. if you are fatigued as well that could be what it is.... in women it causes polyps on the ovaries but it is very treatable with fairly cheap medication, and it can be diagnosed with a simple blood test..

my period was so irregular too I would have them every two to three months until I went to the doc and he prescribed a medicine for me to get regular periods and it did work, my problem was that I wasn't ovulating so you might want to go check it out cause everyone is different. Good Luck.

You really need to see a doctor. Women's bodies are so complicated and you shouldn't play with diagnosis.

We cannot diagnose you over the internet. You need your physicians attention.
