Windows may not run right without IE on the system, but you can still load and use another browser.

Basically, my IE stopped working smoothly about the time MS withdrew support for '98. I presume an automatic update from the Internet got into my system. A lot of people seem to be having the same problems suddenly, but nobody is finding any new virus to account for it.

Maybe the programmers just want us to start buying from the companies they're planning to move to when they leave.

Sounds like your browser is crashing. Try to determine what specific program or event is occurring when you get this message. Try downloading IE 7 or FireFox.
